<br />City Council Minutes - 08/19/02 <br />Page 18 <br /> <br />City Manager Beets stated that staff was supportive of <br />pursuing this proposed restructuring which would <br />redeploy resources, increase street coverage, and provide <br />the needed administrative assistance in providing <br />training, communication and necessary paperwork flow. <br /> <br />Mashka proposed an amendment to Kough's motion to <br />include that the Deputy Chief Position was not being <br />filled at this time pending a trial restructuring of the <br />Police Department, and that any potential excess funding <br />would be provided from contingency funds. Kough <br />concurred with the amendment. Maschka seconded the <br />motion. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Maschka, Kough and Klausing. <br />None. <br /> <br />VI. Organizational Business <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Presentation of the 2001 Audited Financial Report <br />Finance Director introduced Mr. Meyer of Kem, <br />DeWenter, Viere, Ltd. who's firm prepared the 2001 <br />Annual Financial Report for the City of Roseville. <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer summarized and reviewed the financial <br />statement's raw data and provided an analysis of past <br />and future trend information for Council consideration. <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer spoke favorably to the City's retirement of <br />approximately $19,000,000 in debt retirement during <br />2001 and application of GASB 34 reporting <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer noted a trend in the City's Enterprise Funds <br />that they are starting to level off, and the City needs to <br />determine whether they want to continue spending down <br />the funds or increasing incoming revenue. <br /> <br />Presentation of <br />2001 Audited <br />Financial <br />Report <br />
