Larpenteur Avenue Monument Issue <br />Public Works Director Duane Schwartz introduced <br />Ramsey County Engineer Dan Soler, who reviewed sight <br />distance issues at the intersection of Lexington and <br />Larpenteur Avenues, as they related to concerns on <br />placement of three of the six city monuments. <br /> <br />Mr. Soler provided charts defining preferred triangular <br />sight lines of five hundred and ten feet (510') for safety <br />considerations. Mr. Soler stated that this situation at an <br />intersection is not uncommon and at this intersection <br />included trees, railings, lights, stop lights, as well as the <br />monuments. <br /> <br />Mr. Soler stated that Ramsey County had reviewed the <br />three options discussed with staff: <br />1) Ren10val of the three entry monuments adjacent to <br />Larpenteur Avenue, east of Lexington, at a cost of <br />$5,000 - $10,000; <br />2) Installation of a "No Right Turn on Red" sign on <br />southbound Lexington at Larpenteur at a cost of <br />$100; and <br />3) Do nothing if the Ramsey County recommendation <br />is that enough intersection control is in place. <br /> <br />Mr. Soler had no record of any complaints received on the <br />County level; with their only complaints received by and <br /> <br />Reports and <br />Recommendations <br /> <br />Larpenteur <br />Avenue <br />Monuments <br />
