Meeting Room Use in City Facilities <br />Parks & Recreation Director Lonnie Brokke provided a <br />summary of staff research as directed by the City Council, <br />along with an opinion by City Attorney Joel Jamnik, to <br />determine if there are any suggested modifications to the <br />City Policy allowing public use of City meeting rooms, <br />including City Council chambers. <br /> <br />Discussion items included how staff determined who pays <br />and who doesn't; staff determination whether entities are <br />legitimate and qualified for tax exemption; disruption of <br />City staff by users of the Council Chambers specifically; <br />and proper uses of the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn recognized several members of the <br />audience for comment. <br /> <br />Al Sands, 2612 AIdine <br />Mr. Sands stated that residents and various organizations <br />had used the City Council Chambers for years without any <br />problem; and referred to a specific meeting of the <br />Roseville Concerned Citizens held on August 22, 2002 <br />where a press conference was held with television stations <br />where derogatory comments were made regarding the <br />Mayor and Councilmembers.
