<br />Regular City Council Minutes -12/02/02 <br />Page 18 <br /> <br />Shirley Friberg, 2130 Fairways Lane <br />Ms. Friberg concurred with those supporting closure of <br />County Road B, stating that the demographics of the <br />neighborhood were changing; and that the focus needed to <br />be on County Road Band the overall long-term affect. <br /> <br />Jim Cypress, County Road B <br />Mr. Cypress supported closure due to safety issues; and <br />closure would reduce need for a pedestrian walkway due <br />to decreased traffic, with less truck traffic being desirable. <br /> <br />Joel Chaney, Acorn and County Road B Intersection <br />Mr. Chaney stated that he likes the convenience of access <br />to Highway 280, but was disappointed in the amount, <br />speed and truck traffic along County Road B. Mr. Chaney <br />stated that, his personal research indicated that more than <br />50% is through traffic, and they're the ones not abiding to <br />the posted speeds, which were adhered to by most <br />residents in the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Doug Heck, 2123 County Road B <br />Mr. Heck stated that when his family first moved into the <br />neighborhood, traffic was barely existent, but that now in <br />the afternoon, there is a substantial amount of truck traffic, <br />with some exceeding 50 m.p.h., which he thought was <br />more dangerous than a high traffic volume. <br /> <br />Bill Robbins, St. Croix Street <br />Mr. Robbins stated that, after listening to comments, he <br />was in favor of closing off access due to safety issues; but <br />was concerned regarding the increased amount of traffic <br />on Cleveland turning onto County Road B. <br /> <br />Paul Hawes, 2122 Fairways Lane <br />Mr. Hawes stated that safety always needs to outweigh <br />convenience and urged the closure of County Road B. <br /> <br />John Lamenski, 2190 St. Croix <br />Mr. Lamenski stated that, as a three year resident, he <br />hadn't understood why people were opposed until tonight; <br />had found the meeting very informative; and supported the <br />
