Ms. Jurek responded in the <br />negative. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing expressed his preference to hold <br />a public hearing before adopting a resolution authorizing <br />the work. <br /> <br />Schroeder amended, and Kough seconded, the motion to <br />include notice of a public hearing. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Klausing, Kough, Schroeder, and Kysylyczyn. <br />Maschka. <br /> <br />2) Lattice Tower Transmission Tower Modification <br />Costs <br />Public Works Director Duane Schwartz presented an <br />overview, recognizing a rough estimate of the replacement <br />cost of $180,000 for each structure. Ms. Jurek estimated <br />the cost of an engineering study for further exploration <br />would cost between $25,000 and $50,000, to be borne by <br />the City. Ms. Jurek also noted that as the proposed <br />replacement is only for a different style of support <br />structure, it is not eligible for cost recovery. <br /> <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Schroeder seconded, a motion to <br />direct staff to bring back information on possible funding <br />sources, including options of a utility surcharge tax, to a <br />future Council meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn stated that the funding options can be <br />considered separately from the County Road C project. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough asked how many towers were <br />being considered. Mr. Schwartz responded that there were <br />four (4) towers total that were under consideration. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn asked that Councilmembers look at a <br />grander vision and withhold further discussion until the <br />City Council has all information available, with serious <br />consideration to future undergounding of all utilities <br />
