The scope and nature of economic
development can be consistent with enviranmental pratection.
Ecanomic development and environmental protection should not be
considered mutually exclusive. The Twin Lakes "clean up" is a
case in point.
Transpartation
Redevelopment, in many instances, will have a
transportation as extensive truck traffic is
through the use of creative zoning, as well
problems can be substantially controlled and/a
Public Safetv
positive benefit on
eliminated. Also,
as PUD's, traffic
r eliminated.
Public safety can be assisted in redevelopment or new development
projects based on a"defensible space appraach." Innovative
PUD's providing protection, security controls, and integrated
living, as part of the initial planning, can be very helpful. In
addition, special taxing jurisdictions relating to the cost of
public safety should be considered.
HousinQ
Roseville does not want to become a"bedroom" cammunity through
focusing only on resdential growth. Roseville must strive to
utaintain the appropriate balance between the living and working
environments.
Leisure
Economic development has been able to financially support a
significant portion of Roseville's recreational/leisure pragrams.
