- Develop and maintain a comprehensive pathway system that <br />will allow residents and visitors ta be able to move <br />between and among all Roseville parks, including those <br />ownEd by Ramsey County, entirely on nonmotorized <br />pedestrian and bike pathways. <br />- Construct and maintain trails that will enable residents <br />and visitars to move between the trail system connecting <br />the City and County parks. <br />- Develop a sidewalk system connecting the park trails <br />with major civic buildings, recreational and cultural <br />facilities and shopping areas. <br />- Develap a pathway system enabling residents to leave <br />their home and reach a leg of the trail system within <br />several b�ocks. <br />- Illuminate nonmotorized paths to promote increased <br />safety and maximize their �tilization. <br />- Coordinate access to the Willard Munger State Trail <br />(Gateway Trail) connecting the Roseville trail system to <br />the Gateway Trail. <br />- Develop a long-range plan to plant/farest and otherwise <br />beautify al2 trails in conjunction with the comprehen- <br />sive trail system. <br />- Bury power lines and utility cables as a part of each <br />major renovation project to allow for easy trail system <br />development in the future. <br />- Construct additiona3 floating boardwalks to improve <br />access through and enjoyment of nature areas. <br />- Enter into cooperative agreements permitting land use <br />for paths along industrial, County, and State right-of- <br />ways. <br />- Create a Citizen Trail/Pathway Committee to develop <br />recommendations for the deveiopment and implementation <br />of the above strategies. <br />Proqrams <br />. To provide leisure programs in the year 2000 and beyond <br />that aliow for sociability, development of fitness, <br />cultural expression, and environmental appreciation. <br />- Provide for coordination by all units of government, <br />churches, and the private sector in the provision of <br />programs and services. <br />4 <br />
