Subcommittee on Pathway notes taken at Navember 18th meeting:
VISION: Our vision is for non-motarized pathways of ali types whch do more-
than merely connett areas. In this sense they can be regarded as an extension
of the park system. We see these pathways as the means of providing an
opportunity to see nature. exercise, and enjoy the outdaors within a major
metropoiitan setting convenient to Roseville residents. We visuaiize that the
payways will be used for walking, running, biking, skating and commuting
between parks, trails, transit systems and other areas of interest including
shopping and recreational facilities.
Examples of the use of trails and pathways are:
- Connect paths to transit system.
- Connect the parks, various recreational facilities and shopping areas.
- Have mre walk-ways and more bike paths {especiaily separated paths along
busy streets?.
- Include floating boardwalks to get through nature areas.
- Devise creative way to get thraugh or past busy traffic areas.
- Develop bike and walking paths that could eventually connect to the Willard
Munger Trail.
- Create pocket areas, conversatio spots, piantings along pathways.
- Provide places where unwanted citizen plantings could be replanted.
- Eter into cooperative agreements permitting land use for paths along
industrial, couny and state righi of ways.
