Traf f ic _Safety <br />. Reduce the prabability that a traffic accident will occur <br />in Roseville. <br />- Ensure smooth traffic flow throughout Roseville, <br />particularly at intersections, through use of state of <br />the art technologies and practices. <br />- Expand the scope, role, and size of Rosevilie's Traffic <br />Safety Committee: <br />A. To be active in initiating accident investigation <br />and traffic flows. <br />B. To review development site plans for traffic safety. <br />- Change the criteria for accident investigation <br />(currently the threshold for investigating the cause of <br />accidents is five similar accidents at the same⢠<br />location) to lower and .more discreet levels of <br />intervention based on the type of raad and adjacent <br />property uses. <br />- Increase public education in existing traffic laws, <br />defensive driving, and how traffic control devices work. <br />- Require periodic training or retesting for driver <br />license renewals. <br />- Install highly reflective stop signs throughout <br />Roseville. <br />GeneraZ <br />. Increase public awareness of public safety issues and <br />remedies. <br />- Institute a calumn on public safety in a Roseville <br />newspaper or Newsletter. <br />- Enforce existing ordinances regarding the display of <br />house numbers, and improve informational signing (speed <br />limits, posted Snowbird Ordinance, etc.) on streets and <br />thoroughfares. <br />- Investigate the development of centralized technology <br />connected to alarms in all citizens' homes. <br />4 <br />
