C. Fire Safety <br />Objective: Reduce the probability a fire will occvr in or on a Roseville <br />property and to increase ihe capabilities of the community to respond to <br />a fire emergency. <br />Strategies: <br />1. Respond to a fire emergency within four minutes after the request is received by <br />thc primary answering ceater. <br />2. Require hard-wired smoke detectors with battery back-ups in all Roseville <br />buildings. <br />3. Require or create incendves for installing sprinkler systerns in commercial, <br />individual ar►d muld-family buildings. <br />4. Increase public �education of fire safety practices. <br />5. Relocate the fire house on Fauview to a lcss congested, nearby location. <br />6. Install a computer data base to transmit information from 911 calls as ta how <br />many persons, handicapped, pets, et�c. are in a given home. <br />D. Medical Emergency <br />Objective: Expand the community's capabilities to respond to requests for <br />medical assistance thereby reducing the consequences of inedical <br />emergencies for individuals. <br />Strategies: <br />1. Respond to requests for emergency medical assistance within two minutes and <br />provide ambulance assistance within four minutes after the request is received by <br />the primary answering center.. <br />2. Install automaric defibrillators in police vehicles and irain all police officers in <br />its proper use. <br />3. Offer no-cost CPR classes throughout the communiry. <br />4. Enhance public understanding of the 9i 1 telephone for use in medical <br />emergencies and public accurate information regarding aiternative <br />t�elephone numbers for non-emergencies. <br />5. Encourage the development of 24 hour urgent care with adequate diagnostic <br />and treatment capabiliaes in Roseville.. <br />
