It was noted that the <br />osevi �e view has the incorrect date for the Transportation <br />Study Group meetinq. <br />o Demographics were discussed. The group requested demographic <br />information for the years 1970, 1980, and i990, as well as any <br />projections for population with age breakdown, single--family, <br />multi-family, commercial businesses, and developable land as weli <br />as projected traffic voluxnes. <br />o Mike presented a means to organize the study group discussions. He <br />suggested that it may be more efficient to split the group into <br />smaller groups in order to cover a�l aspects of transportat�on. A <br />copy of the overhead, which Mike prepared, is attached. <br />o Based on the information presented by Mike, the group discussed <br />procedural issues: In order to proceed, the group took the <br />material prepared by Hugh which listed issues for each mode of <br />transportation. Hugh's list was discussed and modified as follows: <br />Modes and Issues <br />1. Pedestrian <br />- Continuity of pathways; elimination af gaps and barriers, <br />e.g., construction of highway overpasses <br />- Access to desired destinations, to and within activity areas <br />- Quality af pathways: surfacing, aesthetics, maintenance <br />(snow} <br />- Safety: adequate separation from veh�cular traffic, <br />especially along heavily-traveled streets <br />- Street crossings: signaiizatian, marking, lighting, <br />provisions for handicapped. <br />
