EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 21st day of May 2012 at 6:00 p.m.
The following Members were present: Pust, Willmus, McGehee, Johnson, and Roe;
and the following Members were absent: None.
Council Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 10985
A RESOLUTION APPROVING OUTDOOR STORAGE OF FLEET VEHICLES AS A
CONDITIONAL USE AT 2507 WALNUT STREET (PF12-006)
WHEREAS, Minnehaha Transportation, Inc. has applied for approval of the proposed
conditional use in conjunction with Dedicated Logistics, Inc., owner of the property at 2507
Walnut Street, which is legally described as:
PIN: 08-29-23-23-0008
See Exhibit A
WHEREAS, the Roseville Planning Commission held the public hearing regarding the
proposed CONDITIONAL USE on May 2, 2012, voting 6-0 to recommend approval of the use based
on the comments and findings of the staff report prepared for said public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council has determined that approval of the proposed
CONDITIONAL USE will not result in adverse impacts to the surrounding properties based on the
following findings:
a. While outdoor storage as proposed might not advance the goals of the
Comprehensive Plan aside from facilitating continued investment in an industrial
property, it does not conflict with the Comprehensive Plan;
b. The proposed use is not in conflict with a Regulating Map or other adopted plan
because no such plans apply to the area surrounding the property;
c. The proposed use is not in conflict with City Code requirements since permits will
not be issued if the plans fail to meet all of the relevant requirements and,
moreover,the conditional use approval can be rescinded if the use or the property
fails at any time to comply with all applicable Code requirements or conditions of
the approval;
d. The property has been used as a legal, nonconforming semi-trailer-leasing facility
for many years, and the conforming outdoor storage of fleet vehicles or trailers is
unlikely to intensify any practical impacts on parks, streets, or public
infrastructure;
