ROSEVILLE RESYDENT SURVEY ABOUT RECYCL�NG <br />AND GARBAGE COLLECTTON <br />OVERVIEW <br />'The Roseville Resident Survey abaut Recycling and Garbage Collection was conducted as a <br />mail survey by the Minnesota Center for Survey Research at the University of Minnesota and <br />was funded by the City of Rosevil�e. A toEal of 8Q4 dwelling units were selected for the <br />sample, 585 fram single-family dwellings (those with 8 or fewer units) and 215 from multi- <br />family dwellings (those with 9 or more units). Questions were asked regarding the services <br />the city provides for recycling and garbage collection. In addi�ion, residents were asked <br />questions about the disposal of household hazardous waste, the disposal of appliances and <br />other electronic iterns, az�d the disposal of yard waste, leaves and brush. <br />Mailing and data collection were conducted from January 2 to February 12, 2002. <br />Questionnaires were completed and returned by 531 households: 449 were completed by <br />single-family residents and 82 were completed by multi-family residents. The overall single- <br />family response rate was 78%. The overall multi-family response rate was 47%. <br />G�ALS <br />The goal of the Roseville Resident Survey about Recycling and Garbage Collection <br />(Roseviile Resident Survey) was to gather information from residents of Roseville regarding <br />the services the city provides for recycling and garbage collection. The questionnaire was <br />designed to gauge how citizens felt about the current recycling and garbage collection <br />service, to find out if there was any inte�rest in changing the system, and if there was interest, <br />how the system should be changed. This information will be used to develop the best and <br />most cost effective recycling and garbage collection services for the residents of Raseville. <br />STUDY DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT <br />The Roseville Resident Survey was conducted as a mail survey by the Minnesota Center for <br />Survey Research (MCSR) at the LJniversity of Minnesota and was fur�ded by the City of <br />Roseville. The highest star�dards of quality 5urvey research were ert�p�oyed in conducting this <br />project. <br />The administrative coordination of the project was provided by MCSR Director; Rossana <br />Armson. Projeci Manager, Vzcki McEvoy, was responsible for cading and editing, and <br />writi�g the methodo�ogy report. MCSR Data Manager, Anne Caron, was responsible for <br />ensuring data accuracy and conversion of the raw ASCIl data into an SPSS system tile forznat <br />for analysis.
