BACRGROIIND <br />�n January 22, 1990, Thor Bank appeaxed hefore the Roseville City <br />Council, urging them to become informed and participate in waste <br />abatement and waste management activities on behalf of Roseville <br />residents. <br />He also suggested that the City Council appoint a standing co�- <br />• mittee of Roseville xesidents to review and report to the Council <br />on residentiai yard waste alternatives first, and to ultimately <br />determine the best alternatives for refuse collection, recycling, <br />and the handling of household hazardous wastes and househald <br />special wastes. <br />In response to Mr. Bank's request, the City Council voted ta es- <br />tablish a Residential Waste Management Citizen Advisory Cammittee, <br />and to seek interested residents as volunteers for the Committee. <br />Members of the Citizen's Committee are: <br />Thor Bank, Chairman <br />Irene Bussjaeger <br />Gerald Drewlo <br />Michael Faschingbauer <br />Thornton Gable <br />George Harrison <br />Rick Jacobs <br />Ron Kixk <br />David Norrgard <br />Douglas Pooley <br />Robert Raymond <br />Bruce Schaepe <br />Barbara Wharton <br />Steve Zeece <br />At the onset of ineetings, the Committee met almost on a weekly <br />basis to produce two timely informational supplements to the <br />Roseville Newsletter. The first publication was distributed at <br />the Master Gardener's Program on Aprii 3�, in the Roseville City <br />Hall. The second publicatian was a two page supplement to the <br />June, 1990 issue of the Roseville Newsletter. The Newsletter is <br />mailed to all Roseville residents. Since then the Committee met <br />bimonthly to produce this report. <br />The Citizen's Committee wishes to express its appreciation to all <br />those who participated in making this report possible, and espe- <br />cially those on the RosevilZe Administration staff, in particular <br />Mardy Olesen, Kathleen Miller, and Steve North, for their extra <br />efforts. <br />
