attractiveness of new single family homes. <br />Groups feeling there was "enaugh development now" included: <br />* Senior singles <br />* Retirees <br />* Zone 3 residents <br />The "loss of neighborhoods" troubled Owner-Manager <br />households and $37,500-$50,000 yearly income households. <br />"Traffic" was a key concern for 35-44 year olds and Zone 1 <br />residents. <br />"Good idea" was the answer of $25,000-$37,500 yearly income <br />hauseholds and Zone 4 residents. <br />Supporters were more likely to cite the need for more <br />development. Opponents felt there was enough development <br />already in the city. Strong opponents cited traffic, the loss of <br />neighborhoods, and the lack of need for more development. <br />Opponents were then asked: <br />�ould yon still be opposed ff the <br />lack of aew develapment would lead to <br />city service cutbacks and property <br />tax increases ia the future? <br />Sixty-five percent of the initial opponents remained steadfast: <br />YES.......................................51� <br />NO........................................14$ <br />DON'T KNOW/REFUSED ........................14� <br />The remainder either changed their mind or became unsure of their <br />position on the issue. <br />Owner-Manager households, $37,500-$62,500 yearly income <br />households, and Zone 3 residents were more often to continue <br />their opposition. $12,500-$25,000 yearly income households more <br />often relented. <br />More general public discussion on the costs and benefits of <br />134 <br />
