* Retirees <br />* Renters <br />Renters might be targeted by more information on the system. <br />Pathway users were next asked: <br />Do you principaliy use tha path�ays <br />for recreation, as a meaas of travel- <br />inq to places in the aommunity, or <br />both? <br />The pathways were primarily used far recreational purposes: <br />RECREATION ................................43� <br />TRAVEL.....................................4� <br />BOTH......................................20% <br />But, almost one-third reported using them for intra-city travel. <br />Recreation use was higher among: <br />* Clerical-Sales & Owner-Manager households <br />* Households containing children <br />* $62,500-$75,000 yearly income households <br />The primary thrust for their expansion or enhancement should be <br />geared toward recreational users. <br />Fina�ly, all residents were queried: <br />How would you rate the City efforts <br />to maintain pathways this past winter <br />-- excellent, good, anly fair, or poor? <br />Among thase offering opinions, seventy-eight percent were <br />positive: <br />EXCELI.,ENT..... ............................10% <br />GOOD......................................36� <br />ONLYFAIR ..................................9% <br />POOR.......................................4% <br />DON'T KNOW/REFiJSED ........................42$ <br />But, over forty percent of the residents were unable to rate the <br />system. <br />Ratings nf the city's efforts were highest among $25,000- <br />$50,000 yearly income households. <br />More information about the paved pathway system should be <br />71 <br />
