* Seniors <br />* Retirees <br />* Over 65 year olds <br />* $12,500-$25,000 yearly income households <br />Clearly, age is a significant factor in feelings about a <br />"solitary midnight stroll." <br />Next, sense of security at home was examined: <br />Do you feel safe in your residence <br />at niqht? <br />Ninety-five percent reported feeling safe: <br />YES.......................................95% <br />NO.........................................5$ <br />A very low five percent felt otherwise. <br />There was no significant subgroup variation. <br />In general, then, Roseville residents feel moderately safe <br />in their city. <br />Adequate Street Lighting: <br />Respondents were queried: <br />Are the street in your neighborhood <br />adequately lit with street liqhts? <br />Almost forty percent felt that their street lighting was <br />"inadequate:" <br />YES.......................................60� <br />NO....---•-• ..............................39% <br />DON'T KNOW/REFUSED... ......................1� <br />These same respondents also were much more likely to feel uneasy <br />about waZking alone in their neighborhoods at night. <br />Groups feeling their neighborhoods were adequately lit: <br />* Seniar singles <br />* Over 10 unit apartment building residents <br />* 18-24 & over 65 year olds <br />* High school graduates <br />� $12,500-$25,000 yearly income households <br />80 <br />
