- 4-
Thi s data gi ves some i dea whether or rot another course would be
successful and profiable. More information an analysis wouZd seem
to be appropriate, although positive action is not indicated at this
point.
GENERAL
This category includes Finance and General City informaion.
There is a signifcantly large proportion of peop7e whose contact with
City Mall is with the Public Worlcs Department. This points out the need
to continue tn emphasize good public relatons in this department and not
be complacent about the overail goad rating achieved.
Four survey responses point to a relativeIy high number of people who
have the desire and feel they have the ab-ility to have an effec on
City Hall. One few eople indicated a re7uctance to contact City Hai7
about a prob7em. Two} most people felt they did have a say in running
the City. Three) an exceptiona7ly high number of people rated th job
the City is doing as good or excellent. Four} a significant majority of
houseolds tha were the first to be approached, answered the questionnaire.
In other words, people seem to be interested in the City and fee they
have the ability to get results.
Significantly, people are relying on the City Newsletter, particularly
in the northwest corner of the Ciy, to get the information hat they
are, apparently, interested in. Since this is the case and since there
are a number of citizen education areas where the Newsletier couid be
used effectively, a consideration of expandirg the Newsltter or increasing
the frequency of issuing it would seem to be indicated.
CONCLUSION
The above discussion has reviewed several ssues that were apparent from
responses received on the Multi Serv-ice Gitizens Survey. The Council
may have questions concerning other data -in the survey. Issues where a
specific action might be indicated, or other issues identified by the
Council, may be pursued further should the Counci7 desire. In such cases
an individual analysis of those items wou7d be reviewed with he Council
prior to the implementation of any specfic action or poiicy.
