Home Inspections - A large proportion of people are in favor of the
idea of having various hoe inspecions for fire hazards, energy
efficiency or general code compliance. This would indicate that a
program proposal ight be deve7oped in each of these areas, including
a detailing of possib7e costs and what the program might entail. At
that time further public consideration could be given to the issues.
Home and Susiness Lighing - Significantly, there was a marked differ-
ence in the percived desirability of placing rstricions on home
and business lghting for purposes af pramoting energy conservation.
In the case of business lighting; i.e., neon signs, etc., restrictions
on the use of this type of lighting was favored by a majority of the
respondents. For home lighting; i.e., decoraive Christmas lighting,
restrictions were opposed by over a two to one majority. This data
would seem o indicate that consideration may be given to placing some
sort of time or size restriction on the se of business lighting.
Bike and Pedestrian Pathways - A iarge ajority of the respondents
were in favor of allocating more funds for the construction of bike/
pedestrian pathways. Development of a long range, city-wde pathway
program is indicated.
PARKS AND RECREAiON
The significant iems in parks and recreation concern the golf course.
Parking seemed to be the oniy service problem with ovr onethird of
thase who use te course rating paricing "fair" or "poor". Plo action is
recorrmended, however, since little can be done to a7ter the current
situation.
Concerning th qustion of building another go7f course, a nw tab7e
was generated using the data as follows:
"Before today, had you heard of the goif course... or not?"
"Have you, yourself, used this golf course... or not?"
"Would you be in favor of (building) another gof course... or not?"
Total
Favor Bui7ding 24
Do not favor building fi0%
Don't know 17%
Total
Heard Of Used
Yes No Yes No
30 7% 8% 21
55% 74% 35% 60%
15% 20 6% 19
l OQ% l OQ% 7 00°6 7 00°b Q0
This table is read down and across. For example, of hose who have
used the course in the past, 58% favor bui7ding anoher course and 35°6
do not favor building another course. This data would seem to indicate
that the total population is not in favor Qf building another course,
but that slightly over half of those who currentZy use the existing course
are Tn tavor and would presuably use the new course. This represents
approximately 1,OQ0 adul. residents of Rosev-ile.
