Commissioner Venters would likc a similar provision in Roseville. <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />32 <br />33 <br />34 <br />35 <br />36 <br />37 <br />38 <br />39 <br />40 <br />41 <br />Commissioner Venters said the City Council suggested the HRC work with staff to create an <br />official agenda item for Council's consideration and include corresponding research, sample <br />ordinance and ramifications for the change. <br />City Manager Malinen reviewed the City Council's normal process in considering a proposed <br />ordinance: HRC's purpose for the proposed ordinance; input from the City Attorney related to <br />legalities and corresponding state and/or federal legislation; compaxison of other model <br />ordinat�ces; preparation of a Request for Council Actio�, incorporating I IRC meeting minutes <br />and supporting documents. City Manager Malinen offered to work with tl�e HRC to draft a <br />document for recommendation to the City Council in line with the process suggested by Mayor <br />Klausing. <br />Commissioner McGehee volunteered to wark with Commissioner Venters ta see if other <br />communities have adopted an ordinance and to work with staff with an outiine of what the HRC <br />was aitempting to accomplish, and model ordinances that would meet that criteria. <br />�ommissi�ner Crump also vo�untee�ed to assist. <br />Commissioner Ventcrs expressed concern about whether he would have sufficient time for tl�e <br />project. <br />Chair Delmore suggested that further discussion bc held at the January meeting to determinc if a <br />Subcommittee was necessary to further the project. <br />Commissioner Venters moved, Crump seconded, that during the interim (between the December <br />and January meetings), Commissioneres McGehee and Venters work with City Manager Malinen <br />to make a presentation to the HRC that they pursue the idea of the City of Roseville passing an <br />ordinance against landlords in the City of Roseville making inquiries of the immigration status of <br />current or prospective tenants. Motion carried '7/0/0. <br />42 Elect Vice-Chair to the Commission <br />43 Commissioner McGehee moved and Coznmissioner Venters seconded approval of Commissioner <br />44 Bosch to serve as Vice-Chairperson of the HRC, serving for one year, beginning immediately, <br />45 and to October of 2008. Motion carried 7/0/0. <br />46 <br />
