Chair Delmore called the Human Rights Commission (HRC} tneeting to order at approximately 8:00 p.m. 13 Approve Minutes of August 12, 2008 14 Corrections- 15 ■ Public Department Policies, Page 3, Lines 22-23 (Dclmorc) 16 Correct to read: Chair Deimore�� ,(and otherr, agreedJ there was a need for a Citizen's 17 Review Board and suggested a discussion for such a Board be included at a future meeting." 18 ■ Page 3, Lines 25-28, (Singleton) 19 "Commissioner Singleton volunteered to provide information from the City of St. Paui and 20 their procedure fox citizen review. He noted that �someJ officer misjudgments were not 21 intentional and were often created by the nature of their jobs and complaints were often 22 generated by citizens upset with government in general." 23 24 Commissioner McGehcc moved and Commissioner Sing�eton seconded approval of the August 25 12, 2008 mccting minuies as amended. Motion carried 7/0. 26 27 Forum on Racc/Diversity Training Planning 28 Chair Delrxaore and Commissioners Oftelie and McKenzie reported on planning for the Training 29 scheduled at the Roseville Skating Center on October 14. 30 31 Chair Delmore reported that ihc caterer, Molly of Crealive Catering, was proposing to provide 32 soup, salad and a variety of desserts for fifty atlen.dees at a cost of $S 15. Chair Delmore noted 33 there was money available in the City's HRC Budget for this expenditure, and that some 34 sponsorships had also been received, with more anticipated; and there would be other items to be 35 purchased for the event. 36 37 Commissioner Oftelie said she anticipated more than fifty pcople would attend and asked if 38 Molly would be responsible to transport unused food to homeless shelters. Commissioner 39 McKenzie volunteered to follow up on any unused food. 40 41 42 43 44 45 Discussion ensucd on remaining budget dollars for 2008; anticipated expenses before year-end; availability and/or commitment of sponsors for this event, with commitmenis from the Roseville Visitors Association; Roseville Area School District No. 623; J. C. Penney's; Rotary; and Northwestern College; with commissioners expressing caution until actual monetary sponsorships had been received.
