May 1999 <br />• Joint meeting with Parks and Recreation Commission io discuss complaints at Acorn <br />Parlc Basketball Courts, Soccer Ficlds at Central Park and Bennett Lake Fishing <br />August 1999 <br />• Bias complaint against unidentified security guards and police officers <br />Septcmber 1999 <br />• Complaint was not filed within time limits so was referred to DHR for action <br />December 1999 <br />• Bergquist and Mort Rywick reviewed a complaint and met with Deputy Chief Tom <br />Alleva. Alleva agreed to have bias/hate crime training within Police Department and <br />agreed to step up patrols in the neighborhood. They also met with complainant and <br />developed a C�rnmunity Alert leallet to distribute within neighborhaod. Commissioners <br />volunteered to distribute. <br />• Bergquist requested volunteers to update Bias/Hate Crime response and estahtish a <br />publicity sub-committee. <br />• Bergquist received letter regarding a perceived racist incident.
