They are no longer referring <br />grievance cases to local levei. <br />May 1997 <br />• HRC sends letter to LMHRC about DHR decision to no longer refer grievance cases <br />July 1997 <br />• Commissianers compare No Fault Grievance process to other cities' processes <br />May 1998 <br />e HRC discussed establishing Peer Mediation Program for Schools. Concern that teachers <br />do not model mediation behavior. HRC pians to send lctter to schools offering assistance <br />to build mediation program. <br />June1998 <br />• Letter approved to send to school and to invite Superintendent John Thein to HRC <br />meeting <br />• Two Commissioners attend MN Hate Crimes Summit <br />July 1998 <br />• HRC agrees to send letter to Police for quick response to hate crime/graffiti incident <br />September 1998 <br />• Superintendent Thein and Steve Bloom attend meeting, discuss peer mediation program <br />which has been in the high school for 7 years. It was suggested that police <br />representative attend a rneeEing to discuss her concerns. <br />November 1998 <br />• Complainant had not responded to bias inquiry <br />December 1998 <br />• Disfributed a proposed resolution regarding police depari:ment's policy on high speed <br />chases.
