Roseville City Staff <br />Minnesota Human Rights Commission, if appropriate <br />• Local media, if appropriate <br />Response and Prevenaon Pian Process <br />1. The Roseville Police Department will norify City Staff and the Hurnan Rights <br />Commission Chair of a bias/t►ate crime or incident as soon as poss►ble after a <br />complaint has been investigated and deternune� io be valid. Together, the Police, <br />City staff and Commission Chair will determzne the appropnate level of response <br />including any necessary public statements. <br />2. In the event a complainant does not want Police involvement, the Commission <br />will offer refemals for the complainant and may malce public statemeots after <br />consultation with City Staff <br />3. City staff will notify the Mayor or City Council as appropriate. The Commission <br />Cha�r and desigaee from the Cominissian will promptly contact the victim(s) to <br />offer support and deternune what �eutk�er response from the City or community <br />the �ictim desires and may be appropriate. <br />4. The Commission C�►air will call upon members of the Rosevitfe cor►ununity as <br />needed. Community response options include: <br />- Contact the Projcct Coordinator of the League of <br />Minnesota Human Itights (;ommission to seek support and <br />ensure that the Minnesota Department of Human Rights is <br />notified_ <br />� Contact neighborhood crime watch coordinator who <br />�vould determnie whether the affected area is participating <br />in a watch program and wouId assist in enlisting the <br />vicfim's neighbors to attend the interview or offer other <br />necessary support. <br />° The Comrriission and/or nerivork representatives may <br />send letters to the media, candnct interviews with the local <br />cable channel and plan other cornmunity-wide responses. <br />5. FoIlow-up contact with the victim(s) should be made within one weele in person <br />or by telephone by the Commission Chair or designated contact person. Check on <br />any recurrences, ather problems and offer continucd support. <br />b.
