As Roseville Area School's Diversity Coordinator, I believe it is critical for the students, staff, and community-at-large in Roseville to begin the journey of addressing, ]earninb, and celebrating Raseville's growing and diverse population as arp tners. Awarding this grant to Roseville's Human Rights Cornmission wil] give us the opportunity to begin to pursue this important journey together. The elementary school that I have chosen for the grant supported theatre praject has the largest student of color population in our district. Because of Che rich diversity at Edgeirton Elementary, the students and staff wouid greatly benefit from working with the choser� theatre troupe to continue to address the issues of diversity that are present in such a diverse school. We know that consistently working with and reflecting upon the strength of our diversity will ultimately ►-esult in a more stable academic environment for all of our students. Because this is my first year as Roseville's Diversity Coordinator, this is my first oppo�-tunity to begin bE'idge building hetween the school comm�nity and the community at large--an impoi•tant Step to take as bot� communities work with Roseville's rich diversity. Both comrnunities wi11 need to rely upon one another for the sake of student achievement in our schools. I am hopeful that we will receive a grant from you, and I thank-you for your consideration. I believe that the bene�t on both a micro and macro comrnunity levels is obvious--and most ii�pc7rtantly, this grant is about our children?
