�(a�S� �.��I�-1�,� <br />Roseville Proclamation <br />Race Equality Week <br />September 23-29, 2002 <br />Whereas: the City of Roseville is committed to promoting racial ec}uality and jusiice <br />as a fundamental aspect of a healthy community; and <br />W�tereas: the City urges local individuals and businesses to join together ta promote <br />racial equality and justice; and <br />Whereas: the City declares racisrn unjust and advocates equal rights for all; and <br />Whereas: by Act of Congress of the United Stafies dated July 2, 1964, the Civil <br />Rights Act of 1964 was adopted banning discrimination because of a person's color, race, <br />national origin, religion or sex; and <br />Whereas: by Act of Congress of the United States dated July 9, 1$68, the 14`h <br />Arnendment of the Constitution of the United States giving all persons born or <br />naturalized in the United States the right to due process and equal protection under the <br />law; and <br />Whereas: the City invites everyone to renew their comrnitment to ensuring racial <br />equality and justice for all beginning on September 23, 20Q2. <br />Now, T�erefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby declare the week of <br />September 23, 20Q2 as Race Equality Week in the City of Roseville ar�d urge all citizens <br />to join together to support this effort. <br />In the City of Roseville, CouzZty of Raznsey, State of Minnesota, U.S.A <br />In Witness Wtiereaf, I have hereun#o set my hand and caused the Sea� of the City of <br />Roseville to be affixed this 23rd day of September 2002. <br />Mayor John Kysylyczyrn <br />
