<br />City Council Regular Meeting -12/18/06 <br />Minutes - Page 3 <br /> <br />safe return. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Councilmember Kough for <br />representing the City at various events with the military <br />when he was unable to do so; and for arranging special <br />events involving the military. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kough expressed his pride in the men and <br />women, and their service to the nation to make our country <br />free. <br /> <br />At the invitation of Mayor Klausing, Sgt. Keeler briefly <br />commented on their return November 9, 2006, and the <br />special and awesome welcoming from the State Patrol <br />leading them across the WI border into the State ofMN; and <br />how meaningful it was to have the City's Fire Department <br />escort them to the Roseville Armory. Sgt. Keeler expressed <br />the unit's appreciation on their welcome home following <br />their one-year deployment. Sgt. Keeler thanked Mayor <br />Klausing for attending, along with Governor Pawlenty, they <br />deployment ceremony at Fort McCoy in 2005, especially for <br />such a small group of only 21 soldiers; and what an <br />impression that had made on the unit. Soldiers present were <br />introduced, including: SPC Pearson; SGT Prichard; SPC <br />Roe; SGT Palkova; SFC Keeler and SFC Kaplan. <br /> <br />City of Roseville pins were distributed to each soldier, and <br />individual greeting from the Council and applause from all <br />present was provided to the soldiers. <br /> <br />Approve Agenda Approve Agenda <br />Mayor Klausing called for any comments or discussion on <br />tonight's Agenda. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan requested removal of Consent Agenda <br />Items 3.a and 3.g, respectively entitled, "Approve Check <br />Register;" and "Approve City Manager Contract." <br /> <br />City Attorney Scott Anderson was also present at tonight's <br />meeting. <br />
