<br />City Council Study Session - <br />01/22/07 Minutes - Page 3 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Receive Public Comment about City Issues <br />Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the <br />audience on any non-agenda items. No one appeared. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Recognition of Lakeridge Nursing Home's Donation to Shop <br />with a Cop Program <br />Cyndi Seiwert and Maxine McNamara, representing Lakeridge <br />Healthcare Center were present, and were presented with a <br />plaque by Police Chief Carol Sletner from the Roseville Police <br />Department/Tubman Alliance for their support and sponsorship <br />of the above-referenced program. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing, on behalf of the City Council, staff and <br />community, echoed appreciation to Lakeridge for their <br />community support. <br /> <br />Ms. Seiwert noted the facilities enthusiasm in giving back to the <br />community. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Presentation about Federal Bureau of Investigation National <br />Academy <br />Captain Rick Mathwig provided a report on his recent attendance <br />at the FBI National Academy and addressed the program's goals <br />to provide a comprehensive and balanced program of advanced <br />professional instruction through partnership with state, local and <br />international colleagues. Captain Mathwig summarized the <br />classes, physical training, and activities during the academy. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Captain Mathwig for his report; <br />encouraged his carrying forward his training with the City's <br />Police Department; and noted an upcoming feature article in the <br />Roseville Review. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />Consider Alternative Energy Sources for the Skating Center <br />Councilmember Kough introduced possible alternative energy <br />considerations for the OVAL and City-owned facilities. <br /> <br />Karen Anderson, Executive Director of the American <br />Sustainable Energy Council, was present to provide information <br />promoting wind distribution.
