MINQTES <br />ROSEVILLT SISTER GITY COMMITTEE <br />WEDNESDAY, MAY 15, 1991 <br />Members Present: Martha Hardesty, Charles Scott, and Susan Weber. <br />Members Absent: None. <br />Others Present: Brenda Thomas, Council Member. <br />1. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Charles Scott at <br />7:00 p.m. <br />2. Minutes <br />The April 22, 1991 minutes were reviewed and approved withaut <br />change. <br />3. Sister CitY Guidelines <br />The Sister City Guidelines were reviewed and discussed. The <br />Coinmittee had no problems with the guidelines. <br />4. Upcom�ng Meetin�s <br />A. Minnesota League of Cities [MLC] (lobbying group) <br />State Meeting: June 13, 1991. Sister City Workshop. <br />State Coordinator: Joyce Benson, Duluth, MN. <br />Sister Cities International <br />Because Sister Cities International is so busy, the <br />Committee will rely more on the State level, so the MLC <br />is a natural avenue. <br />Rochester <br />Members of the Committee can go with fees paid (no cost <br />to members). <br />B. Sister City Conference--Chicago July 17 <br />The Committee will find out if the City wi�1. pay expenses <br />for memk�ers attending this confexence. <br />Because of the stage of planning we are in, it was stated <br />this conference may not be useful to us at this time. <br />Thomas stated the Iowa conference was fantastic and fee�s <br />the Committee should watch for it next year. <br />5. Friendshi Cit Relationshi s <br />The "triendship city" relationships .is an invention of <br />LouisviZle, Kentucky. This is an unofficial relationship. <br />Note: If a City is taken under the Sister City program, we <br />can't choose it, but we cou�d become "friends" with it. <br />
