Roseville Sister City Associatian <br />Minutes <br />January 6, 2004 <br />Presen�: James and Joyce Boardson, Lilian Dargis, Yuriko Farmer, Mary Meyex, <br />Jan.Schultz <br />Minutes: <br />1. Pzevious Action Items: Lilian presented the final brochure�form for the <br />Shinmachi pamphlet to be used to try and obtain host families, as well as <br />participants to go to Japan. Members were given copies to pass to potential <br />families. Lilian was reimbursed for her costs. <br />2. Treasurer's Report: Passing the checking account from Carol Stark to Joyce <br />is st��1 in transition as Tom was extremely busy over the Holidays with Scou�s. <br />He has not had time to sign the needed forms at the bank. <br />3. Shinmaehi: Yuriko has had contact from the Japaniese Dance Group_ There may <br />be a possibility of cannecting with some activites. Xuriko and Lilian con- <br />tinue to work on firiding host �amilies and participan�s to go to Shinmachi. <br />Lilian had a nice articly in the Roseville Wrap. <br />4. Cosra Rica: Kia, the medical student, successfully delived the sew�ng machine <br />ta Cartaga. Joyce will contact Kia to see if we can get an articl and pictures <br />in the Roseville Review. <br />5. Information Ite�s: 5horev�ew wil have their annual �erman Winter Dinner at <br />which Mary Eisenhowere will be the keynote speaker. Ir will be on Saturday, <br />March 13, 2004 at S:OR, at the Shoreview Community Center. Tickets to the <br />event can be purchased ($25) in advance at the Germanic American Institute <br />(651) 222-7027 or at the Shoreview City Ha11 (551) 49fl-4600. <br />Sister Cities Annual Conference will be in Forti Worth, Texas in July. <br />Xoung Artists Competition entries are due Apri1 30,20Q4. There is a$30 <br />entry fee. Call Tom for more informaeion. <br />b. China Connection: Tom received Greeting �or the Holidays.
