Roseville Sister City Association <br />Minutes <br />Novemher 4, 2003 <br />PreSent: Joyce Boardson, Liliane Dargis; Yurido Farmer, Mary Meyer, Jan Schu�tz, <br />Tom and Virginia Turba. <br />Minutes: <br />1. No recent or currenC activities <br />Z. Treasurer's report: Not available. There was a brief discussion af City <br />maney being carr�ed over since the Shinmachi group d�d not arxive. Joyce <br />was volunteered to be Scecretary-Treasurer. <br />3. Shinmachi: Lilian is putting together a brochure on 5hinmachi, only, to be <br />used for Crying to obtain home-stay host famil�es. She hopes to have it ready <br />for the December meeting. She is also trying to get an article into the <br />Roseville Wrap, but was told space could not be promised. <br />4. CosCa Rica: There is a 4th year medical student whom Joyce has worked wzth <br />at her clinic, who would like to go to Costa Rica for two weeks and shadow <br />some one in the medical fie�d. She wauld also like her mother to go along. <br />Eduardo Cruz has been working on host families in C.R., with three possib�lites. <br />However, no one has heard from her, Kia Lilly, fn the pask week Kia is <br />willing ta take the sewing machine dowxx as check-in luagage. Joyce proposed <br />that we give Kia $SO to $75 to help take her host family out to dinner. This <br />money comes from Joyce's employer's (HealthPartners) CareCash Donations fund <br />for employee's valunteering in the Community. The commit�ee was in agreement <br />with [his. <br />Tom is expectang approximately 28 scouts (girls and boys) plus 4 leaders to be <br />coming from Costa Rica at Christmas time. Ages are 10 to 19 years. <br />5. Future Activities: No news on the China connection. <br />6.
