Treasurer's report: Not available, but no change was anticipated. .Toyce <br />w�ii be sending in a request for State Sales Tax Exemption as soon as the <br />paper work for applicarion (IRS inc. tax exempt letter an.d year-end financi.al. <br />statemenk) are available. <br />3. Shinmachi: 5everal group members have met to start the groposal for financial <br />assistance from Roseville Community Fund. rt is hoped that the proposal will <br />be ready to submit soon. Several families are inrerested in going to Japan <br />next year but are unable to afford the full airFare. Suggestions were made to <br />approach NWA when more info is available on participants. Dennzs 5trootman <br />has met with Tom Critchley to do a presentation ar RM5 geography class. <br />4. Costa Ri�a: nrrival of. the young Costa Rican student is not definiCe, yeC. <br />llue to teacher strike in C.R., the end of her classes has been delayed. Joyce <br />will try to contact a Concordia Acadamy teacher to see if she would be interested <br />in assi_stzng with a work site. Tom has been in contact with the World �x- <br />change Program and will be getting more informati.on from Ricardo Lobo in C.R. <br />There are 62 schools in C.R. involved with this program. <br />5. New Business: Joyce suggested that we consider making a float for our parade <br />unit next year in the Rosefest Parade. <br />6. Ongoing Business: Time has been limited. No progress has been made on a scrape <br />book for fund raising. <br />7.
