A recap of comparable cities various charter items that I thought would be
of interest when deciding how Roseville might want to go.
2. A suggested time table to wade through the issues and finish the ob. The idea is that
if commission members lmow what's coming up for study and debate, they can
"bone up" ahead of time. If we finish up early on an issue, we could go on to the
next one so long as members knaw what's ahead.
Y've also put in some ideas on possible campaign funding at the locallevel
to rztake it easier for people to run for office. This would be breaking new
ground, and it's in response to Mayor Kysylyczyn's request for some ideas to
make rinning for office easier on candidates. For discussion at some future time.
3. Some recent exatnples of the use of initiative and referendum. I know of no recent
examples of recall of elected officials.
4. Some proposals for discussion on expenditure limitations for Roseville for the
January meeting. I have a half hour video tape I made up in 1997 stunmarizing
the City's TYF forums which I'll be glad to lend out #o anyone asking me for it.
Sincerely,
