MINUTES 4F THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE <br />THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 1997 <br />ROSEVILLE ACTIVITY CENTER <br />2800 ARONA <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Pat Johnson. Minutes from the June <br />5, 1997 meeting were approved. Members of the Committee introduced themselves and <br />were asked to add fiheir telephone numbers to the list. <br />Discussion of Events <br />Using the framework established at the June 5 meeting, the Committee discussed the <br />evenfis that could occur from May to October, deciding fihat the theme/logo/button design <br />would be chosen quickly so the Parks and Recreation Department could use it on the `98 <br />shirt orcler. <br />Events at the OVAL (from January to March) could be incorporated into the 50th <br />Anniversary. It would be coordinated by Chairman Don Anderson. <br />A motion was made a�d approved that the May event wifl be a Birthday Concert and cake <br />at the Central Park Amphi#heater, with City Hall as a backup in case of rain. <br />A motion was approved that the June event will be the Rosefest Parade, and the July <br />event will be something to be determined at tF�e 4th of July Rosefest celebration. <br />A motion was approved that the August event will be a Volunteer Recognition Party in <br />Central Park on Sunday, August 16, 1998. The event wil! feature a"Taste of Roseville" <br />where Roseville restaurants will be invited to participate. This event will take place before <br />the State Fair which begins August 27. <br />A motion was made and approved that the September event wiEl be a"Street Dance" a� the <br />OVAL that will include youth to seniors with multiple bands. We need to check with the <br />School Districts to find an appropriate date thaf wi11 not conflict with their schedules. <br />A motion was approved to conclude with a banquet on Saturday, October 17, 1998 at <br />Midland Hills Country Club. Pat Johnson has had preliminary discussion with Midland Hills <br />for a sit down dinner with two meat choices for approximately $20. Pat will confirm the <br />date on Friday, June 20. Betty Wolfangle was asked to chair this event. She will decide <br />later. <br />Betty Wo{fangle reported for the Historical Society that they will publish Roseville History <br />Book, Volume 2 and have an historica4 exhibit at Roseville City Hall and the Ramsey <br />County Library_ They will also hold a fund raising dance in November, 1997 featuring the <br />four decades of music. <br />
