ROSEVILLE 50TH ANNIVERSARY CUMMITTEE <br />ROSEVILLE ACTIVITY CENTER <br />2SOQ ARONA <br />WEDNESDAY, February 11, 1998 MINUTES <br />ATTENDING <br />Ray Barton, Carmen Bell, Bob Bierscheid, Bob Cardinal, Lorraine Hansen, Denny Harris, Mary <br />Ha�ris, Tom 3ohnson, Pat Johnson, Joau Kapaun, To�n Kough, Alice Marks, Barb Mastell, <br />George Merrill, Steve 1Vorth, Don Zibell <br />Visitor: Bill Jenner <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairperson Pat Jolznson. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Barb Mastel moved, Alice Marks seconded, that the January 7, 1998 Committee Minutes be <br />approved. All ayes. <br />COMNIITTEE REPORTS <br />ROSEVILLE SOTH BYRTHDAY BASH - Lorraine Hansen reportcd that all arrangements are <br />proceeding we11. She spoke with the bakery and p�ans for the cake are proceeding fine. The <br />bak�ry is ceiebrating their4(hh year in Roseville. <br />ROSE PARADE - Plans arc proceeding well. Denny Harris spoke with Winter Carnival <br />participants and they are looking forward to participating. <br />CELEBRATE WITH MUSIC/50 YEAR RESIDENT RECOGNITION - Alice Marks <br />reported that the Roseville Community Band will give a spring conce�t on May 3 at 4:00 }a.m. at <br />the Rosevilie Area High School. At that time the "Birthday Bash" will be promoted. They will be <br />giving roses to the first 50 people in attendance that are the same age as the City of Roseville. Pat <br />Johnson reported that she has been receiving a number of calls from people who are 50 after the <br />latest publicity article. The SOth Anniversary is also being advertised on the Roseville Band web <br />page. <br />TASTE OF ROSEVILLE/SALUTE TO VOLUNTEERS/SALUTE TO BUSINESS <br />AND �NDUSTRY - Bud Merrill reported that the committee had met that day and that plans are <br />proceeding well for the Taste af Roseville. Dave Daht will be the M.C. for the program on August <br />22. B�d also reported that the committee has contacted a non-politicai person, well knawn <br />celebrity and that there is a 60% ct�ance that person wiil attend. The committee is setting up a news <br />release with a special phone number for people who have volunteered in Roseviile to call. Bud <br />asked that Ray BaFton contact Betty Wolfgangle before March 1.8 regarding publicity. <br />There was discussion on the laser s�ow and Pat 3ohnson reported that Frank Rog would be <br />meeting with the company aud working out the iinal details. Barb Mastel reported that Betty <br />Wolfangle is looking at including youth who have also volunteered for the city. <br />It was also reported that the people that run the Slice of Shorevi.ew carnival rides will put on the <br />carnival for the weekend of August 21, 22 and 23. They are a family run carnival with good <br />refer�nces. They v�vill pay a guaranteed $1200 fee. The city council needs to okay the carnival. <br />
