The carnival has agreed ta the hours stipulated and will be sei up in the parking iot south of the ice <br />arena. <br />There was discussion on the issue of parking and there will be parking at off site locations with <br />shuEtle service to the Oval. it was suggested that Tom Alleva be asked about permission to park on <br />Lexir�gEon and also along County Road C. <br />DANCING ON ROSES - Tonn Kough reported that the square dancers will participate on <br />August 22. T1�e committee is aiso setting up a zr�eeting with a group of Iine dancers. The <br />committee will meet with Bob Bierscheid concerning arrangements and charges for the bandstand. <br />Bob Bierscheid reported that the bandstand has been reserved for two events, August 22 and <br />September 19. The fee is $400.00 and Barb Mastel will be checicing with Jan Weisner to see if the <br />charges far the bandstand can be waived for that weekend. The Dancinb on Roses commiftee has <br />received $2,500 in grants so far and they have a budget of $4,000. Tom also reported that a letter <br />�as been sent to President Clinton asking him Eo attend. <br />GULDEN ROSE BANQUET - Carmen Bell reportcd that she had visited Midland Hills <br />Country Club on February 23 to checic the traffic flow, room for displays, a cash bar and space for <br />t�e video. She reported that Mr. Cardinal will possibly donate wine for the evening. No program <br />as of yet. The committee is discussing a number of ideas, one which would be a pr�nted proa am <br />for people to take home as a souvenir. The L,ake Owasso Garden Club is workinb on ccnterpieces. <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE - Tom Johnson reported that the budgets for the following <br />comn�ittees are: <br />• Birthday Cake -$500.00 sponsored by the Roseville Bantc <br />• Parade is budgeted at $15,000 and we have $2,5U0 so far <br />• Banquet is budgeted at $30(? <br />Tom also reported that they are looking for major sponsors for thc Taste of Roseville/SaiuEe to <br />Industry. <br />PUBLICITY COMMITTEE - Ray Barton reported that in addition to advertising in the Pioneer <br />Yress and the two local papers, he checked with Buyers Edge and found that to be advertising, so <br />we are unable to publicize in that paper, but there will be publicity in the Minneapolis Tribune. <br />Since the meeting in January there has been publicity on looking for 50 year resideats of Roseville <br />and also for convertibles for the parade. The 1998 Residence Guide donated a half page to <br />publicity for the 5dt�i Anniversary. Another notice will be put out for the Arts and Craft Fair. <br />Ray also asked committee chairs �11 out news release forms that he has available. <br />Pat Johnson commended Ray on the good job he did in getting an advertisement in the Resident <br />Guide. <br />It was also suggested that Pat Johnson go on the "Comrn�nity Calendar" portion of WCCO radio <br />to proznote the 50th Anniversary. Ray Barton will ask Joan Gerten to handle any radio station <br />promotions. <br />SKATING CENTER EVENTS COORDINATION - No report at this time. <br />B�JTTON COMMITTEE - Denny Harsis reported that button cards will be finalized soon and <br />that they have ten gif�.s for prizes for the button sales. They have ordered 2,500 buttons but will be <br />ordering more, since most activities will cali for button admission. Ken and Denny will be going <br />
