David Hoffman, the RAHS band director will direct the band that <br />evening. The May 3 band concert wilI be a pre-event for the Celebrate <br />with Music event and shirts and buttons will be for sale that evening. <br />TASTE OF ROSEVILLE/SALUTE TO VOLUNTEERS/SALUTE T4 <br />BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY - Boh Matson introduced his committee and <br />gave an overview of the plans for the weekend o�f August 21, 22, and 23. <br />• The carnival will run for 3 days and will be set up in the parking lot <br />of <br />the Roseviile Ice Arena. <br />• The cxaft portion will set up Friday evening and run all day <br />Saturday and Sunday. There was an article in the Pioneer Press <br />about the craft show and so far a nuinber of applications have been <br />sent. <br />• Not surE are of yet whether or not there will a fine arts area. <br />• 18 restaurants are committed for the event on Saturday. Bob will <br />be checking �urther with the restaurants in the next few weeks. <br />• There will be entertainment beginning at 10:00 a.m. and running in <br />approximately 40-45 minute segments until 6:00. <br />• The volunteer recognition program wili begzn at b:QO p.m. <br />• During the course of the day, hats or visors will be given ta people <br />who <br />have valunteered throughout the past. Betl:y Wolfgangle is in the <br />pxocess of <br />collecting names of vo�unteers, and she has asked that all committee <br />members look over the sheet of organizations to lae sure that no one <br />is missed. <br />• General Co�in Powell has been asked to be the guest speaker for that <br />evening, however, the committee had just received a letter declining <br />the invitation due to a previous commitment. He sent a Ietter <br />congratulations Roseville on our 50 year auniversary. <br />• If anyone has a suggestion for a speaker on a national or state level, <br />please let Betty know. <br />• We wiil be renting the Ramsey County Stage at a cost o� $400.04. <br />• The committee has submitted grant applications to local groups - so <br />far, the VFW has contributed $2,000.0� and their large tent which <br />will be the booth for vol�nteer activities. <br />• The Salute to Industry will be the climax o� the evening with a laser <br />show by Laser Entertainment. It will be done on a giant, inflatable <br />screen 60 ft by 50 ft, Laser Entertain�nent will do a appraximately a <br />SQth Anniversary Committee z <br />
