ROSEVILLE SOTH ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE <br />ROSEVILLE ACTYVITY CENTER <br />2800 ARONA <br />WEDNESDAY, June 17,1998 MINUTES <br />ATTENDING <br />Kat y We sch, Mindy Greiling Merri Zakaras, Rose Diestler, Joan Gerten, Margaret Kehr, Betty <br />Wolfgangle, Don Zibell, Frank Rog, Steve North, Bob Bierschied, Don Anderson, Mark Hughes, <br />George Merrill, Pat Johnson, Bob MaEson, Denny IIarris, Mary Harris, Mary Bakeman, Lorraine <br />Hansen, Tom Johnson, doan Kapaun <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Pat Johnson. <br />APPR4VAL OF MINUTES <br />The comm�ttee approved the minutes of the May 6, 1998 meeEing. <br />Pat Johnsan introduced Mary Bakeman to the committee. Mary has interviewed 25, 50 year residents <br />and will continue to do so in the coming months. George Merrill introduced Maric Hughes, who <br />works in communication and �ublic relations for KSTP. Mark will be staffing a publicity booth for <br />the Tastc of Roseville during the August wee[cend. <br />COMMITTET REPORTS <br />TASTE Of ROSEVILLE - Bob Matson reported that he has sent letters to interested restaurants <br />asking for their comrzaitment for the Taste weekend. He also reported that Stan Hubbard of KSTP <br />will be the guest speaker for the volunteer recognition portion of the weekend. KSTP is also <br />celebrating their 50 year anniversary. At this time we have 51 confirmed crafters. Hats have been <br />ordered as a thank you for volunteers. The program will start at 7:00 and will end just before dark <br />and the start of the laser shaw. There will be music by khe Roseville Big Band, words forrn Pat <br />Johnson, and Dan Wail, letters of recognition and the speaker, Stan Hubbard. The big band will play <br />until the sta�rt of the laser show_ <br />Frank Rog reported that he will be meeting again witk� the laser show staff and will put together a list <br />identifying the sponsors of the entertainment. The Tas[e committee will meet have their next rr�eeting <br />on June 26. Bob also reported that the North Su6urban Youth Association has donated $3,000.00 for <br />50th anniversary �ctiviCies_ <br />R�SEVILLE 50TH BIRTHllAY BASH - The Birthday Bash went very well. There were <br />approximatcly 1,040 people in attendance. It was a wonderful kick off! <br />R�SE PARAllE - The parade cotnrnittee was meeting at the same tirne. Lorraine Hansen reported <br />that the parade is on target and that thcre wili be 110 anits and 10 bands. <br />CELEBRAT� W1TH MUSIG50 YEAR RESiDL+'NT RECOGNITION - On July 4, there will be two <br />bands playing and the program will be held during tttat time. Fifty year plus residents of Roseville <br />wiil be recognized and their names will be read. �'hey will each receive a-rose and a progiam with the <br />printed names. . The Pioneer Press is helping to sponsor that event, so they will be donating roses for <br />each honored guest. There will be VIP seatxng, but they will need to bring their own chair. <br />DANCING dN ROSES - Denny Harris reported that the planning is going fine. <br />GOLDEN ROSE BANQUET -$etty Wolfgangle reported that cornmittee is working on finding a <br />speaker and on centerpieces for that event. They had hoped to have Governor Arnie Carlson as the <br />speaker, but unfortunately he is unavailable -that eveiiing. Mindy Greiling asked if it would be <br />possible to have a vic�eo and scrapbook available that eveniz�g that the League of Women Voters is <br />putting together. The League would aEso like to 13ave a booth the weekend of the Taste of Raseville. <br />The Rosevil[e Bank is the sponsor for the banquct, so all press releases will recognize the bank. <br />50th Anniversary Cummittee � <br />
