QPERATINi; COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE - Tom Johnson reported that all but $1,400.00 has been raised far the <br />50th Anniversary activities, so we are in good shape. <br />PUBLICITY COMMITTEE - Ray Barton is no longcr able to handle the publicity due to other <br />commitments. That�ks to Ray for a job well done. All press releases should be sent to 1'at 3ohnson <br />and Pat will copy Joan Gerten. <br />SKATING CTNTER EVENTS COORDINATION - Don Anderson reported that communication is <br />going well and things are running smoothly . <br />BUTTON COMMITTEE - Denny Harris reported that to date, approximately 1700 buttons ha�e <br />been sold. Buttons"will be reozdered for thc Taste of Roseville. <br />SHIRT COMMITTE� - Don Anderson is coordinating volunteers to sell shirts at the upcoming <br />events. If you are avaitable for a shift, please give Don a cali. Shirts will be sold at all the events. For <br />the Taste of Roseville event, there will bc a table inside thc oval entrance. Shirts will also be sold at <br />the open E�ouse for the city on July 28. Golf shirts and sweatshirts are available for $20.00 with XXL <br />selling for $22.00. <br />PIONEER PORTI2AIT COMMITTEE - Due to the response, another time will be set for taping <br />interviews. A grant application is in the process oF being prcpared to help defray the costs of <br />producing the video. <br />OTHER BUSINESS - <br />• Mark Hughes suggested that we have fliers on the Rosevilie Circulators availabie for <br />riders. Mark will call and get some from Bah Bierschied. <br />• Don Fisher reported that tetters were sent to over I00 local businesses asking for <br />sponsorship for the parade and to date will have received $900. <br />• The City af Roseville will sponsor an opcn house on 7uly 28 from 5:00 - 5:00 p.m. <br />It will have a heritage theme. There will be a short program during which the <br />time capsules from past events will be opened and each city department will have <br />exhibits. This event has been changed frorr► a weekend to an evening. Watch for more <br />information. <br />• Merrie Zakaras asked what the plans are for the RA.HS doors. The doors were useci as <br />a backdrop for the band at the Birthday Bash and they will be used again for a bacScdrop <br />on July 4. There will be a portabie stage the weekend of the Taste, so they will be able <br />to be ❑sed at that time also. <br />• Merrie Zakaras also reported on the school district plans for celebrating the 54th. It is <br />difficult with activities taking placc during the summer months, but information was <br />given out to the principals and their slaff. The large birthday card was kicked off at <br />PCS. The school �istrict celebrates 50 years next year, so there wiil be some activities <br />planned for the spring. <br />• Stan Hubbard will talk about 50 years. of television at the Taste event. If you have <br />information about Roseville, send it to Bud Me�rill for a comparison of events in <br />Roseville, to coordinate with Mr. Hubbard. <br />• Il was reported that construction is inoving along well and that they are aware of a11 the <br />activitics taking place and will work around the Taste of Rosevilie event. <br />• The video taped of the segment that KSTP aired the day of the Birthday Bash was <br />viewed. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. The next meeting will be Wednesday, August 5, 1998 at <br />7:00 p.m. at the Roseville Activity Center. <br />50[h Anniversary Committee <br />
