City of Roseville, Minnesota <br />2002 Budget <br />PLA <br />Fund: Community Development <br />Account Number: 260 - 056.100 <br />Organizational Accountability: Community Development Director <br />DEPARTMENTAL DESCRIPTION <br />The Planning Department's mission is to develop effective <br />recommendations on comprehensive planning programs in a <br />manner consistent with City policies. City Planning works <br />closely with all departments in preparation and design of <br />development projects as well as providing guidance to the <br />general citizenry. Planning continues to be the link in providing <br />smooth, well - planned development and anticipates continued <br />refinement in its processes to keep up with current and <br />increasing demands. <br />CITYRESOURCE INPUTS <br />EXPECTED CITY OUTCOMES <br />Strategic Outcomes: <br />Roseville will be a community with a <br />diverse blend of strong residential <br />neighborhoods, open spaces, and <br />thriving commercial /industrial areas <br />Areas will be developed with quality <br />materials and landscaped buffers <br />IV42 <br />2002 STxATEGIC WORK <br />PLAN <br />Work toward achieving consensus <br />of community planning among the <br />various city constituencies <br />Provide sound, thoughtful, and <br />professional advice on all <br />development projects and City <br />Codes <br />Update the Zoning Code <br />Continue the collaborative work <br />with the 1 -35 Coalition <br />2000 Achievements <br />it Supported over 70 public planning <br />and council meetings with staff <br />reports on planning projects <br />it Updated the Comprehensive Plan <br />i Implemented setback permit <br />process to reduce the cost to non- <br />owners by 60 percent <br />i Completed 24 hour service study <br />Citizen Benefit /Impact: <br />+ A reasonable blend between <br />commercial /industrial development and <br />neighborhoods <br />+ Ordinances and codes will achieve <br />strong support by the community <br />Quality development adherence to City <br />Codes are assured <br />
