City of Roseville, Minnesota <br />2002 Budget <br />GENERAL PLANT REPLACEMENT FUND <br />DEPARTMENTAL DESCRIPTION <br />Fund: General Plant Replacement <br />Account Number: 409 - 064.000 <br />Organizational Accountability: Finance Director <br />The General Plant Replacement Fund provides for the <br />gathering of depreciation reserves from various non - enterprise <br />funds for the purchase of equipment not including motor <br />vehicles and other heavy equipment. Depreciation charges are <br />transferred to this fund from user departments. These charges <br />and the interest earned on those balances are only used to <br />replace current non - licensed mobile equipment such as <br />mowers, computers, heating, and major tools. <br />CITY RESOURCE INPUTS <br />EXPECTED CITY OUTCOMES <br />Strategic Outcomes: <br />Provides for an orderly replacement <br />of non - vehicle equipment without <br />major property tax swings <br />IV -50 <br />2002 STxATEGIC WORK <br />PLAN <br />Work with the departments and the <br />City Council to assure maximum <br />economic use is made of current <br />equipment <br />Keep management and the City <br />Council advised of the health of the <br />plant depreciation fund <br />2000 ACHIEVEMENTS <br />Ai Achieved an 74% level of funding <br />for accumulated depreciation in <br />2000 <br />Ai Kept city efficiency high with <br />modern and improved equipment <br />and tool replacement <br />Citizen Benefit /Impact: <br />+ Up -to -date equipment for city <br />employees to complete their tasks <br />+ Added value to City services from all <br />departments by having up -to -date <br />equipment <br />
