City of <br />1� <br />'� <br />`/�„� <br />Minnesota, USA <br />Public Works Functions - 2002 <br />Overall Objectives <br />• Manage the public transportation, drainage, sanitary waste, and water infrastructure of the community. <br />• Provide quality and cost - effective public works services that are sensitive to the community and the <br />environment. <br />• Provide support to reach other department and citywide objectives. <br />2002 Work Plan <br />The work plan sets out the specific programs we foresee being instrumental in the Public Works function <br />in achieving its overall objectives. <br />• Improve the aesthetic quality of Public Works Projects. <br />• Upgrade the Public Works Systems. <br />• Systematically upgrade infrastructure. <br />• Increase the efficiency and accessibility of services. <br />Specific Program- 2002 <br />In addition to applying the work plan to day -to -day activities, the following specific programs will be <br />implemented in 2002 <br />• Work with the Council regarding the potential of a Co. Road B -2 pathway. <br />• Work with residents and Council in preparing and implementing a program for local drainage <br />problems. <br />• Develop a landscape maintenance plan for the growing number of streetscape projects. <br />• Continue infrastructure landscaping of storm ponds and pumping stations. <br />• Evaluate alternatives identified in the water source study completed in 2001. <br />• Begin 2nd generation water management plan preparation. <br />III -2 <br />
