City of Roseville - 2003 Budget <br />Division /Program: Geographic Information Systems <br />Organizational Responsibility: Community Development Director <br />Division / Programs Description <br />The GIS division coordinates the interdepartmental geographic data base system, provides <br />mapping materials and participates in long range planning projections and demographic studies. <br />The division is responsible for improving city mapping and data management, linking GIS to <br />permits, creating web versions of neaps, and using GIS technology for long range planning. The <br />division liaises with other governmental units to maximize the accuracy of GIS data and to <br />improve the efficiency of GIS in its impact on city operations.
