Regular City Council Meeting
Minutes of
Monday, February 26, 2007
Page 14

accordance with SlOI3.02, for Thomas McDaniel at 527 Owasso Hills Drive
(PF 3787);" upholding the Variance Board's decision of October 4,2006 to
deny the requested variance, concluding that no hardships were present to
warrant granting a variance.

Councilmember Pust thanked staff and the Variance Board for their incredi-
ble research work and reasonable review of this application; and assured
them that her subsequent vote didn't reflect on their work.

Councilmember Roe noted the difficulty of this decision, recognizing good
arguments on both sides and expressed his concern about official informa-
tion of record. Councilmember Roe opined that, in looking at the issue from
a hardship standpoint, he could not find sufficient demonstration of a hard-
ship.

Roll Call
Ayes: Kough; Ihlan; Roe and Klausing.
Nays: Pust.

11. Consider Appointments to the Residential Lot Split Study Group
Community Development Director Stark advised that, after the Council
packet had been distributed, Mr. James DeBenedet had e-mailed staff to ad-
vise that his time commitment had diminished; he had withdrawn his name
as a sitting member, but offered to serve as an alternate.

Pust moved, Ihlan seconded, appointing four at-large members to the single-
family residential lot split study advisory group; and appoint a fifth applicant
as an "alternate," in the event any of the appointed applicants are unable to
fulfill the commitment. Appointees were: Gary Grefenberg; Darrel LeBar-
ron; Jeanne Kelsey; Vivian Ramalingam; with James P. DeBenedet ap-
pointed as an alternate and encouraged to attend when possible.

Roll Call
Ayes: Kough; Ihlan; Roe; Pust and Klausing.
Nays: None.

Councilmember Kough expressed concern that as much public input as pos-
sible, as well as his perspective, be heard.
