<br />City Council Study Session <br />Monday, March 19,2007 <br />Page 17 <br /> <br />Further discussion included possible ways to expand the Fairview Avenue <br />pathway and need to prioritize that section; ongoing discussions with the <br />Cities of St. Anthony and Minneapolis for the second round of grant applica- <br />tions. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing opined his suppOli; noting the previous presentation on <br />global warming issues; and encouraging additional opportunities for biking <br />and walking. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing suggested associated amenities for staff consideration (i.e., <br />provisions for bike lockers and secure bike parking); with Mr. Schwartz re- <br />sponding that he would include potential amenities in the operations cate- <br />gory of discussions. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to return to the March 26, 2007 regular Council meeting <br />for consideration and action. <br /> <br />Bus Shelter on Snelling and Skillman Avenues <br />Councilmember Kough, on a related note, addressed the undersized bus shelter and <br />lack of seating at this particular location. <br /> <br />Mr. Schwartz advised that this site was one that had received replacement of a for- <br />mer Metro Transit shelter; and the type of design was narrow without benches. <br />Mr. Schwartz advised that staff would address City concerns to CBS Outdoors, the <br />new owner of former vendor, TranStop. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to meet with the transit shelter firm and report back to the full <br />City Council on their discussion. Councilmember Kough requested notice of the <br />meeting for his attendance. <br /> <br />11. Informational regarding a Minor Amendment to the AMC Theaters <br />Planned Unit Development <br />City Manager Malinen advised that staff was seeking City Council concur- <br />rence that staff could move forward in issuing a permit for a minor subdivi- <br />sion for the AMC Theaters, for an enclosed ticket counter. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing observed that it would seem, from a political and practical <br />standpoint, to support a minor amendment to the PUD. <br />
