Council- member Roe personally opined that Roseville was already a cool city, and their involvement would allow them to become a MORE "Cool City." Councilmember Kough noted other areas the City was investigating, such as wind energy. Councilmember Ihlan spoke in support of signing the agreement and ex- pressed her personal commitment to emission reduction; and volunteered her services to work with the club in researching past and current emissions to determine what more can be done in the community to reduce them. Mayor Klausing suggested that the Public Works, Environment and Trans- portation Commission would be a good group to serve, along with staff, in researching this information. Mayor Klausing thanked the group for providing the background informa- tion to the City Council and residents. Recess Mayor Klausing briefly adjourned the meeting at 7:58 p.m. and reconvened at 8:02 p.m. 6. Consideration of an Ordinance Amending Chapter 508 of the RoseviIIe City Code regarding Donations of Unclaimed Bicycles to the RoseviIIe Area High School for use in their Lifetime Recreation Class Police Chief Carol Sletner provided background information on recovered or abandoned bicycles coming into the custody of the Police Department, and when owners are not found, the bicycles are sold at auction or if of no ap- parent value, are discarded. Chief Sletner requested that the department, rather than selling or discarding the bicycles, be authorized to donate the bi- cycles to the Roseville Area High School for their refurbishing and for their lifetime recreation class. The City Attorney's office had drafted Chapter 508.02 to City Code, entitled "Donation of Unclaimed Bicycles," allowing the Police Department the op- tion of donating unclaimed bicycles to Roseville Area High School.
