City Council Study Session Monday, April 16, 2007 Page 2 City Manager Malinen and Mayor Klausing phoned Councilmember Kough at the hospital and explained the City Attorney interpretation and recom- mendation regarding Open Meeting Law provisions. Councilmember Kough expressed his acceptance of the ruling; wished everyone well, noting that he missed citizens, and advised that he was continuing his promotion of the City of Roseville to hospital staff. Mayor Klausing advised that Councilmember Kough and family were re- viewing their treatment options following the removal of a fast-growing tu- mor earlier this week. 2. Approve Agenda The Agenda was approved as presented. 3. Public Comment Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the audience on any non-agenda items. No one appeared. 4. Council Communications, Reports and Announcements a. Proclamation of Holocaust Days of Remembrance, April 15-22, 2007 Mayor Klausing read, and Councilmembers approved by consensus, a proclamation honoring the memory of victims, survivors, rescuers and liberators of the Holocaust; and proclaimed the City of Roseville' s participation in a Day of Remembrance known as Yom Hashoah on April 15, 2007, in the City of Roseville. Mayor Klausing complimented staff on their poignant and appropriate language in drafting the proclamation. b. Mayor Klausing announced the City's partnership with the Lions' Club and Heart Safe Community activities (various non-certification training classes) scheduled for Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Willow Room at City Hall, open to any Roseville res- idents. c. Mayor Klausing announced improved City services, with curbside residential recycling switching to weekly pickup effective April 23, 2007, noting that this was the day following Earth Day; further noting that staff had been involved in notifying the public through various
