<br />City Council Study Session <br />Monday, April 16, 2007 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />City Manager Malinen and Mayor Klausing phoned Councilmember Kough <br />at the hospital and explained the City Attorney interpretation and recom- <br />mendation regarding Open Meeting Law provisions. Councilmember <br />Kough expressed his acceptance of the ruling; wished everyone well, noting <br />that he missed citizens, and advised that he was continuing his promotion of <br />the City of Roseville to hospital staff. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing advised that Councilmember Kough and family were re- <br />viewing their treatment options following the removal of a fast-growing tu- <br />mor earlier this week. <br /> <br />2. Approve Agenda <br />The Agenda was approved as presented. <br /> <br />3. Public Comment <br />Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the audience on <br />any non-agenda items. No one appeared. <br /> <br />4. Council Communications, Reports and Announcements <br />a. Proclamation of Holocaust Days of Remembrance, April 15-22, <br />2007 <br />Mayor Klausing read, and Councilmembers approved by consensus, a <br />proclamation honoring the memory of victims, survivors, rescuers and <br />liberators of the Holocaust; and proclaimed the City of Roseville' s <br />participation in a Day of Remembrance known as Yom Hashoah on <br />April 15, 2007, in the City of Roseville. <br /> <br />Mayor Klausing complimented staff on their poignant and appropriate <br />language in drafting the proclamation. <br /> <br />b. Mayor Klausing announced the City's partnership with the Lions' <br />Club and Heart Safe Community activities (various non-certification <br />training classes) scheduled for Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 2:00 - <br />4:00 p.m. in the Willow Room at City Hall, open to any Roseville res- <br />idents. <br />c. Mayor Klausing announced improved City services, with curbside <br />residential recycling switching to weekly pickup effective April 23, <br />2007, noting that this was the day following Earth Day; further noting <br />that staff had been involved in notifying the public through various <br />
