Regular City Council Meeting Minutes
Monday, April 23, 2007
Page 14

Mr. Gallop advised that moving the jump would prove problematic, as
that was the only portion of the lake where the anchors would hold for
the jump, rather than pulling out of the soft base of the lake.

Councilmember Roe questioned if the Ramsey County Sheriffs De-
partment provided an inspection of the ski jump, or as part of their ul-
timate permitting, required that they be present during use of the
Jump.

Mr. Gallop advised that the Sheriffs Department wasn't present dur-
ing use of the ski jump; however, they did inspect the jump for safety
considerations, and noted that special requirements for placement and
provisions were in place on both applications.

Councilmember Roe questioned the type oflicensure; with Mr. Gallop
responding that the permitting was similar to that of a dive platform, a
structure anchored overnight.

Councilmember Roe questioned if any reported incidents were on file,
or if the Sheriffs Department had expressed any concerns regarding
the location of the ski jump; or if the Association had been asked to
change or review anything prior to Ramsey County granting the an-
nual pennit.

Mr. Gallop noted that there were no incidents he was aware of; that
the people using the jump had no issue with its location; and that there
were considerations regarding hours of operation; ceasing operation
with other boat traffic in the vicinity due to wakes caused by those
boats and safety concerns for jumpers.

Mr. Y ounquist, at the request of Councilmembers Roe and Pust, dis-
played a map of the lake and the location of the ski jump and water
course, as well as location of buoys; direction of the course and
jumps; and any voiced objections from property owners along the
point regarding location of the jump and course.

Mr. Gallop responded that the Association was aware of no objections
