Mr. Malinen sought Council direction to deviate from their rules of appointment; and how to proceed. By consensus, staff was asked to follow up with the previous appli- cant one more time to determine her interest; and to schedule an inter- view with Marie Oftelie; along with the previous applicant if she is in- terested, as outlined in the staff report dated May 7, 2007. 11. Councilmember-Initiated Items for Future Meetings Councilmember Kough - Animal License Ordinance Review Councilmember Kough requested a review of the City's animal ordinance related to licensing of cats as a way to notify residents that they needed to li- cense cats. Councilmember Kough - "Welcome to Roseville Signs" Councilmember Kough requested a follow up regarding the proposed sign- age and discussions with service organizations (i.e., Kiwanis, V.F.W., Le- gion Club, and Lions) for their involvement. Mayor Klausing noted that he had been following up with Mr. Wally Malin- beck, and it was his intent to attend a Council meeting in June for further discussion. Councilmember Pust noted that there may be other civic organizations (i.e., League of Women Voters, Rotary) who may be interested in participating, and that would need a broader discussion by the City Council during their deliberations. Mayor Klausing noted that, it was his understanding that the groups were in- terested in starting discussions again; and that it was his suggestion not to consider design at this time, but to refer the item to the Public Works, Envi- ronment and Transportation Commission for their development of the crite- ria and issues, followed by a recommendation to the City Council.
