Eugene Bahnemann, 2656 N Lexington Avenue <br />Mr. Bahnemann reiterated his previously-voiced disappointment in <br />the City Hall prairie grass area, which he referred to as the "weed <br />patch," expressing concern that as a nearby property owner, he had to <br />look at the natural area 2417. <br /> <br />Mr. Bahnemann also expressed his annoyance with the City Hall <br />parking lot lights, and their impacts on his property, which he alleged <br />had not been taken into consideration when City Hall was built. <br /> <br />Mr. Bahnemann urged other residents who shared his viewpoint to <br />consistently contact Mayor Klausing and their local Congressmen to <br />voice their disapproval; and vowed that he would continue returning <br />to voice his opposition until he got a response. <br /> <br />4. Council Communications, Reports and Announcements <br />a. Mayor Klausing noted Lake Owasso residents' eligibility for a green <br />community award, the various options for eligibility, and announced <br />the tour of those homes in August. <br />b. Mayor Klausing offered personal, community and City Council con- <br />gratulations to City employees, Tim Pratt, Carolyn Curti, and Lonnie <br />Brokke for their receipt of the Northern Lights Award, recognizing <br />their communication efforts to get the OVAL in the legislature's <br />bonding bill. Mayor Klausing reiterated past recognition of a fantastic <br />job done by all. <br />c. Mayor Klausing noted the recent gathering held at the OVAL for <br />Councilmember Tom Kough, and congratulated Councilmember <br />Kough, and thanked Tom's wife, Carol Kough, for planning the event, <br />and for inviting the Council to share in this impressive and expressive <br />event celebrating Tom's life and his accomplishments. <br />d. Councilmember Ihlan announced that she had recently attended a con- <br />ference sponsored by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency <br />(MPCA) on the subject of preparing your community for climate <br />change. Councilmember Ihlan noted that she had received great in- <br />formation on how communities can deal with sustainability, and <br />looked forward to the City setting benchmarks for energy usage and <br />how to begin meeting standards of the Kyoto Protocol. <br />
